The project on the use of online metrics allows domestic media to apply advanced Chartbeat tools in their daily work. The goal of the program is to strengthen the competitive advantages of domestic media, to increase professionalism, transparency of the media market and to introduce modern technologies in the work of editors. The project is financed by the Innovation Fund through the US Embassy in Kazakhstan.
Today it is the first and the unique project in Kazakhstan, which gives free access to 25 online media, project participants, to innovative tools in the field of data analysis throughout the year.
Chartbeat is a leading analytics company for improving editorial strategy and broadening readership. The company's services are used not only by 75% of the US media market, but also by leading media in more than 60 countries of the world.
The project launched the website olshem.kz, which displays key indicators of web analytics of those online media -participants of the project, using Chartbeat tools.
Participant media can provide detailed and accurate analytics to advertising agencies, media experts, and potential clients. This will help media resources to improve their professional level and the quality of content, as well as to adapt the editorial policy, taking into account analytics data. Visitors of the site can evaluate statistics on key indicators in real time, make a comparative analysis and download a statistics report by month.
Olshem.kz will build professional relationships between the participants and promote the use of metrics in editorial policy. By creating transparent data about Kazakhstan's online content and how the reader reacts to it, the project will help domestic media resources to increase advertising revenue and become more competitive.
For the transparency of the project and for the monitoring of its implementation, it was decided to create an independent Board of Trustees, consisting of representatives of the real market - media experts and specialists in the field of IT technologies. The project operator is the Kazakhstan Press Club.
Today, the following world's leading media outlets also use the tools of the advanced company such as: USA Today, CNN, The New York Times, Vox, Fox News Channel, The Washington Post, BBC, Le Monde, Ringier, The Independent, El Tiempo, Caracol Television, Nikkei America, Media Prima and many others.
